Celtic Women’s Circles

A safe, sacred space to share our true selves

What are women’s circles all about?

Magic happens when women gather and sit together in circle. We hold space for one another and practice active non-judgmental listening, which can be truly transformative and healing

Celtic shamanism is based on a deep respect and connection with nature and seasons. It is not a religion, so can therefore sit alongside any other beliefs you may hold. In a sense, it’s an act of remembering the ancient wisdom all of our ancestors once had

Even if you’ve never been part of a circle before, it can feel comfortingly familiar. We connect with the wisdom within ourselves and with Mother Earth

“Sue strikes a lovely balance between being very human and participating in an authentic way whilst also managing the process of the circle. She is able to be very present in circle so you really feel like you have been heard. Sue is inclusive and able to make people feel very comfortable and appears to effortlessly create a sacred, safe and confidential space”

What happens in circles?

I prefer small groups of no more than 10 women to ensure each woman gets sufficient time to share. My circles generally run for 1 1⁄2 to 2 1⁄2 hours

After opening the circle and creating a safe sacred space, a topic is introduced and discussed. This might be around the relevant Moon phase or astrology, the story of a particular Celtic goddess or marking a specific rite of passage such as menopause

Women’s circles I run

Each month I run a few private circles, either in person on my roof terrace in the Valencia region of Spain or via Zoom

I also host a weekly Zoom circle on behalf of Gather the Women, which is a free 45-min drop-in circle

Please email me if you’d like more information on joining any of the above or to discuss setting up a bespoke circle for a group of women

What am I committed to?

  • Deepening our connection with the seasons and moon phases
  • Celebrating Irish goddesses and the wisdom in their stories
  • Honouring rites of passage

… matters we overlook as we strive to make sense of our modern world
